Each year, many of our residents offer their time, energy, knowledge and talent to our municipality by serving on one of the Fire Companies, the First Aid Squad, or on one or more of our boards, commissions, or committees.

If you have interest or expertise in a particular area and a desire to volunteer, Washington Township needs you! Please consider volunteering and supporting your community. Many opportunities exist.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

            Notice is hereby given that Washington Township (Morris County) will receive sealed bids for a written agreement granting permission to hunt deer for conservation and management purposes during the 2018-2019 hunting season on public property owned by the Township as follows:

            Spring Lane/Marjorie Drive (Block 11, Lots 16, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 27.07) 54.81 acres       (Minimum Bid $1,000)

    

 

            Reservoir Road (Block 3, Lots 10 and 10.02 and Block 9, Lots 1, 2, 34 and 6.02) 131.30 acres (bow-hunting only) (Minimum Bid $1,500)

           

            The sealed bids will be opened and read in public on the ­­­­­16th day of August 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Municipal Building, 43 Schooley’s Mountain Road, Long Valley, NJ 07853-0216.

            Bidders may bid on any or all of the identified properties.

            To be eligible to bid, a bidder must be a non-profit New Jersey unincorporated association or a New Jersey non-profit corporation, and have a membership of at least five (5) members. Along with its bid, a Bidder shall supply the Township with a copy of its certificate of incorporation, or, if the association is not incorporated, then a copy of the articles of organization or by-laws. The successful bidder will supply, within three (3) business days from notification of award, a certificate demonstrating that it carries commercial general liability insurance with limits of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence, and in the aggregate, naming the Township as an additional insured. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee in the form of a Certified or Cashier’s Check, payable to the Township of Washington, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount bid or $100, whichever is greater.

            Detailed conditions and requirements for each bid (which are not fully set out in this advertisement), as well as a copy of the proposed written agreement which the successful bidder shall sign, are available from the Washington Township Clerk, 43 Schooley’s Mountain Road, Long Valley, New Jersey 07853-0216.

            All bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and “Hunting Bid,” (with the applicable property identified by Street, Block and Lot) on the outside, and be addressed to the Washington Township Clerk.

           

            The Township Committee reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and to award the agreement in the best interests of the Township.

Registration is still open for vendors:  

To register as a vendor or purveyor for the 2018 Long Valley Market located in the field between the Long Valley First Aid Squad Building and the Long Valley Pharmacy running Thursday afternoons until Oct 11th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.  The start date will be announced when vendors have been secured.: 1) Complete the following questionnaire; and 2) Submit a Certificate of Insurance and the Hold Harmless agreement available at www.wtmorris.org. After submitting the questionnaire please also provide a check made payable to Washington Township (2018 LV Market on the memo line) The cost for registration to sell any items is $15 per week, or the discounted price of $150, for the entire 16 week season. Applications are currently being accepted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON, COUNTY OF MORRIS AND STATE OF NEW JERSEY ESTABLISHING AN ELECTRIC AGGREGATION PROGRAM– INTRODUCTION AND FIRST READING

 

 

Paving of the following Township roads is planned for 2018:

  • Cindy Lane, in its entirety, .31 mile, milling and base repairs scheduled to begin 6/19 for approximately three days. Road will be passable but please proceed with caution. Paving anticipated for 6/22 or 6/25 dependent on weather.COMPLETED
  • East Springtown Road, from Camp Washington Road to Naughright Road, .75 mile, during June. Vehicular access will be limited for one to two days for milling and paving during which time detours will be in place.COMPLETED
  • Old Farmers Road, beginning at East Mill Road.  COMPLETED

Oil and Chip is planned for West Springtown Road (1.52 miles) and West Valley Brook Road (1.59 Miles). Portions of Reservoir, Frog Hollow and Tall Timber will also be oil and chipped.

The County plans to pave East Mill Road from Schooley's Mountain Road to East Valley Brook Road, 2.4 miles, October, exact date TBD.
