The Lieutenants oversee the operation of the various divisions of the Department: Administrative, Patrol Division and Support Services.
The Administrative Lieutenant is staffed by Lt. Mark Niemynski; Lt. Niemynski is responsible for the Departments Accreditation Process, Standardized Operating Procedures, Records Bureau, OPRA Request, Township Permitted Alarms, OPRA Request, NJDARM and Building and Grounds of Police Headquarters.

The Patrol Lieutenant is staffed by Lt. Christopher Bratus; Lt. Bratus is responsible for the Patrol Division, School Liaison to the Washington Township Schools, Department Training Officer, Liaison to the Morris County Communication Center, Internships, Liaison to Washington Township Municipal Court, Discovery Officer, Oversees Departments Specials and Matrons, Internal Affairs Officer and is the Liaison for the Washington Township Fire Companies and Long Valley First Aid Squad.

The Support Services Lieutenant is staffed by Lt. Douglas Compton; Lt. Compton is responsible for the Support Services Unit which includes the Detective Bureau and Traffic Bureau, Departmental Fleet, Departmental Budget and Requisitions, Recruitment Officer, Firearms Backgrounds, Department Social Media Networking, Public Information Officer, Contractor Overtime and Departments Information Technology.
Police Communications are managed by the County of Morris Dispatch Center.
