The
Washington Township Planning Board
The
Washington Township Planning Board is an eleven-member
board consisting of the Mayor (or his designee), a Township
Committeeperson, a township official (other than a member
of the governing body) and eight residents appointed
by the Township Committee, two of whom are alternate
members. Regular members are appointed to four-year
terms, alternate members to two-year terms.
The
purpose of the Planning Board is to develop the Township
Master Plan and zoning ordinances regulating land use
throughout the township. The Washington Township Planning
Board is charged with hearing applications that comply
with township ordinances for land subdivision and commercial
site plans such as applications to change lot lines,
subdivide land into additional developable lots, site
plans for commercial, industrial or office development
and changes in permitted uses.
The
Washington Township Planning Board meets the second
Monday and fourth Wednesday of every month to hear applications.
The meeting held on the third Tuesday of every month
is a work session for the board. All meetings are open
to the public, and public participation is encouraged.
