Center Hours

The Recycling Center is located at 54 Rock Road, Long Valley.
The Center is open from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
on the following days:

Every Saturday
 
Wednesdays
1st - 3rd and 5th of the month

The following Recycling Materials are accepted at the Center.

For the Safety of the Staff. containers must be 25 pounds or less. Materials that are not properly prepared will not be accepted at the Recycling Center.

Batteries
Auto and Truck

Motor Oil
Used Engine Oil

Clothing
Place clothing in the Goodwill Box located at the recycling center. Please do not place clothing on the ground in front of the Goodwill container.


 
 
Comingled Materials
Comingled (mixed) materials must be rinsed and free of debris. Plastic containers and steel or bi-metal cans should be crushed to conserve space. Comingled materials are composed of the following:
  • Glass Bottles
    • All colors
  • Cans
    • bi-metal
    • tin covered
    • steel
    • Aluminum Cans
      • Plastic Bottles
        • Both Type 1 and Type 2
          Look at the bottom of the item for the recycling logo and type information. Discard the other Type Plastics in the regular trash. Remove any caps from the container and discard the cap in the regular trash.
      Paper
      • Newspapers,
        • Dry
        • Bundled
        • Tied
      • The following Papers may be mixed together
        • Office Paper
        Contained in paper bags
        • Cardboard
        Flattened and tied
      • Telephone books
        • White Pages ONLY. The Yellow Pages should be discarded in the regular trash. They are unsuitable for recycling.
      • Magazines
        • Tied
      • Junk Mail
        • Contained in paper bags or tied
      • Brown paper (kraft paper shopping bags)
        Flattened and/or tied
      Leaves and Brush
      • Leaves and Brush are accepted at regular recycling hours between September and December ONLY
      • Brush and Leaves may be dropped off by non-commercial residents from properties of 2 acres or less.
      • Leaves must be bagged

      Brush must be

      • Bundled and tied
        • not to exceed 3 feet in length
      • Diameter may not be more than 3 inches

      Brush and leaves should not be placed on the roadway.

      Placing brush and leaves on the roadway may result in a summons being issued.


      Materials not properly prepared will not be accepted at the recycling center. Hazardous Materials are not accepted. To obtain information on the disposal of Hazardous materials, please see the bottom portion of the DPW Disposal Web Page.
